Madrid, Spain.- At FITUR 2026, Médico Express and the Santo Domingo Hotels Association (AHSD) signed an Interinstitutional Cooperation Agreement designed to connect hospitality and healthcare—strengthening visitor safety, improving the guest experience, and positioning Santo Domingo as a leading destination for health and wellness tourism.
The agreement was signed by Dr. Alejandro Cambiaso, Executive President of Médico Express, and Yudit García, President of the AHSD.
Dr. Cambiaso emphasized that the partnership delivers concrete value for hotels by enhancing guest safety, improving emergency response readiness, and elevating the overall visitor experience through access to internationally oriented healthcare services.
Yudit García noted that this commitment boosts the competitiveness of Santo Domingo’s hotel sector by integrating prevention, staff training, and a coordinated care model—adding trust and differentiation for travelers seeking confidence and quality during their stay.
A Direct Care Pathway for Hotel Guests
Through this agreement, AHSD member hotels will have a direct referral channel to Médico Express for:
- Urgent care and medical consultations
- Diagnostic imaging
- Clinical laboratory services
- Gastroenterology
- Dentistry
- Ophthalmology
- Ambulatory surgery
All services will operate under rapid-response protocols, bilingual assistance, and coordinated institutional support—helping ensure clear pathways and timely attention for each case.
The partnership also establishes an exclusive coordination line for referrals, immediate guidance, and logistical support—designed to optimize response times and streamline the patient journey.
Telemedicine, International Services, and Continuity of Care
As part of the collaboration, Médico Express will provide telemedicine and remote follow-up when appropriate—supporting initial clinical orientation, pre-evaluations, and continuity of care after the visit.
These services are supported by Médico Express’s International Department, created to coordinate care for travelers and international patients with an organized, bilingual, and person-centered experience.
Hotel Staff Training: Safety That Starts On-Site
A key pillar of the agreement is the training of hotel personnel in first aid and emergency management, strengthening on-property readiness for critical events and raising prevention and safety standards expected by today’s international tourism market.
Corporate Wellness and Preventive Programs
The agreement also includes:
- Executive check-ups and preventive programs for hotel executives and staff, with preferential rates
- Reciprocal benefits to promote integrated “stay + health” experiences
- Corporate wellness initiatives and preventive campaigns focused on healthy lifestyles
